How can I hear the turbo on my volvo 850 glt?

How can I hear the turbo on my volvo 850 glt would I have to do something to the blow off valve?|||First thing is remove the factory compressor bypass valve ( aka CBV, located on the turbo housing cold side) and repalce it with a blanking plate (can be brought online) this allows the full boost pressure to be vented to the atmosphere through a blow off valve (BOV or pop off valve). A blow of valve that has a large trumpet should be purchased and fitted to maximise the sound.

If you were after the turbo spooling up sound and turbo flutter you can replace the air box and ducting with a short section of pipe and a pod filter, with the spring tension on the blow off valve tightened to keep the blow off valve closed longer a reverse pulse of charged air reflects off the closed throttle plate and gets chopped up as it enters the turbine compressor wheel giving an awesome flutter sound (search youtube "dose pipe" to listen to the sound) this slows the turbine and some would argue shortens the lifespan of the turbo, but I dont agree with that.

Well hope this helps.. Theres nothing like the sound of a boosting turbo :-)|||Roll down the windows and drive next to a wall or through a tunnel. Modulate the throttle so the turbo spools and slows, you will hear it. Why you want to hear it, makes me wonder. Drive next to a semi truck with the window down and its turbo will blow your ears out!|||Why do you want to?
