Are the front and back oxygen sensors in a 1999 Volvo S70 the same?

My 1999 Volvo S70 threw the code P0420, Catalyst Pressure Below Threshold or something along those lines. I just replaced my catalytic converter last july, and replaced the air filter not long after the code was thrown. The guy at Autozone said this probably means I need to replace the 02 sensor. I was wondering if the front and rear sensors are identical, or if they are two different parts.|||The sensors are not the same. Not same part number.

You did not specify if the car was a Turbo model or not.

This makes a difference when diagnosing issues like this by code.|||its a 1999 model, could be that the oxygen sensors are not fully tighten. also you could have a exhaust leak. maf sensor could be bad see what it is reading. , then again the oxygen sensor could be the problem, the vehicle is 12 years old if you never replaced it.

the sensors are not the same|||The pre and post oxygen sensors are not the same that the length of the wiring are different. The sensor itself maybe the same.

Back to your P0420, the 02 sensor may not be the problem. Go back to the shop that replaced the cat and have them check for cracks of the new cat installation.
